Some of these ideas and notes have been gleaned from Ana's feedback notes regarding the course that she did in Christchurch in Term 4, 2009 and Term 1, 2010. (thanks to Peter, for getting someone to trial the material in its fullness. I may be able to cut and paste those thoughts but not tonight.) In no particular order at this stage
a summary of each lesson's objectives could be given tothe parents
more crafts, or booklets to supplement the activitie
visual aids for the Heroes stories, photos, maps.
use the Kairos clock
the course is suitable for 8 - 12 year olds. not 5 - 7 years . they can't read fluently, and are developing their Bible knowledge.
in its present form. which could be called version 1. (v1.0)
we are working on v2. and expect to trial it in its changed form during 2011. Version 3.0 will be the one that will be useful. and should be 'ready' around 2012.
The Global Hand (THUMB) areas need to be tied in with the missionary Kairos Hero. e.g. Mary Slessor, Tribal, Cameroon.
need group work and crafts
There could be two types of Sunday school programmes: traditionally run programmes with lessons and groups and crafts and more 'Hillsong Kids' type programmes, with larger groups. We are firstly focussing on the traditional programme, as most churches around the world consist of around 80 people, so correspondingly their children's programmes will be smaller.
All of the following are subject to change, both in timing and in order, but these are the components we felt were necessary to include. adds up to 1 hour 10 minutes at this stage, but subject to change. and we will also include 'optional' extras, that can be inserted. some of the stories in version 1, would take longer to tell, without the DVD.
